Designed For Joy — Trip to the U.S. and Mexico Border

In September, Designed For Joy and Border Perspectives collaborated on a mission trip to McAllen, Texas, to serve the local community and learn about immigration policies. The team visited key landmarks, heard from Border Patrol agents, and supported organizations like Border Missions and Team Brownsville. This experience deepened our understanding of the challenges faced by immigrants and inspired us to advocate for compassion and dignity for all. “I was a stranger, and you welcomed me.” (Matthew 25:35)

Hope at the Border

After my trip, I leave with a much better understanding of the South Texas border. In its history, I found it to have always been a place of hope and refuge. I think about Eunice offering the “Good News” to a young man and the miracle of that Hope in his life. I think about the line of people at Border Missions loading up their vehicles with produce with the Hope of impacting a life for Christ.
