SERVICE-LEARNING MODEL
Service-Learning Slows You Down Enough to Listen.
Your group will experience a stretch of the border alongside local immigrant leaders. You’ll be introduced to the unique aspects of life for border communities, plus learn how the bigger story of the Gospel helps us understand the immigration conversation, outside of the current political climate.
Service-Learning Aligns You Closely with Local Immigrant Leaders.
Your group will collaborate directly with the immigrant ministry being led by the Moya family. You will see how their local ministry has a long-term impact as immigrant populations continue to change.
Service-Learning Helps You Contextualize what God is Doing.
Your group will serve in a cross-cultural context and see the work of God in a new light. Throughout the week, our local team will guide you through cultural barriers to help you begin to dismantle preconceived ideas about the immigrant populations crossing the southern border.
Service-Learning Empowers You Back Home.
By the end of the week, your group will begin to understand how you can care for the needs of the immigrant populations in your own community back home. You’ll leave equipped and empowered to connect your experience to a real, lasting impact.
